Step into serenity at the lush Garden of PLAYGROUND BYRON BAY, nestled in the arts and industrial area. We can’t wait to showcase our special edition of Therapy Dance Party this July!

Embrace the outdoors from 4:30 pm as we kick off this unforgettable evening.

Headliner: Joyce Muniz

Joyce Muniz has a story like no other. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, to a family rooted in shamanism and samba, she moved to Vienna in the 90s and became a vocalist when the city was a global center for downtempo music. She started her DJ career at Flex Club and brought an authentic voice to the European baile funk explosion in the 2000s, touring with Major Lazer. Transitioning into production, Joyce has collaborated with notable artists such as Maya Jane Coles and DJ Hell, held a residency on Rinse FM, and released music on labels like Get Physical, Permanent Vacation, Pets, International DJ Gigolo, and Exploited, which released her debut album, 2016’s ‘Made In Vienna’.

Her second album, ‘Zeitkapsel’ (German for ‘time capsule’), expands on her diverse influences, incorporating her identity as a queer woman through her art. Musically, it’s a roadmap of her life expressed through electronic music. From 80s synths meeting hip-hop beats in ‘These Days’, recalling her days in Vienna, to the electro house vibes of ‘Joy Toy’ and ‘Arrivederci Bella’, where she sings and raps in Portuguese. The DJ Marky-approved d’n’b track ‘Bangalore Girl’ reflects her debut Indian tour, and the closing track ‘Tempelhof’ is an ode to Berlin, her current home, inspired by the city’s lockdown oasis.
