About this Event
These one-time therapeutic workshops combine puppet-making, play therapy activities, and guided emotional skill-building in a small, supportive group (max 6 per age group).
Each workshop is facilitated by a licensed clinical psychotherapist and an experienced artist, who together bring their expertise in childhood development, doll and puppet making, and evidence based expressive therapies. This unique combination ensures that every session is both therapeutically informed and creatively engaging.
Children and teens will create their own puppet and use it to explore feelings, practice social skills, strengthen coping strategies, and express their unique story in a low-pressure, creative environment. No prior experience needed — just curiosity and openness to play.
Puppet Pals (Ages 5–7)

This age group thrives on imaginative play and learns best through concrete, hands-on activities. Using puppets helps children safely explore and name feelings, practice simple coping skills, and rehearse social interactions. A small-group format supports turn-taking, sharing, and early friendship-building in a sensory-friendly environment.
Puppet Power (Ages 8–10)

Children in this stage are developing more complex emotions, stronger peer awareness, and early problem-solving abilities. Puppets allow them to express tricky feelings indirectly and with less pressure, while structured play therapy activities teach coping skills, flexible thinking, and perspective-taking. Small groups support shy, anxious, or neurodivergent kids who benefit from predictable routines and gentle social practice.
Voices Within (Ages 11–13)

Tween years involve major shifts in self-identity, emotional depth, and peer dynamics. Puppets offer a unique “safe distance” where tweens can express inner experiences without feeling exposed. Play therapy methods encourage insight, emotional vocabulary, and communication skills. A small-group setting provides supportive peer connection at a time when belonging and acceptance become increasingly important.
Behind the Mask (Ages 14–16)

Adolescents are navigating identity, autonomy, and more complex social stressors. Puppetry and creative play give teens a non-threatening outlet for exploring personal themes, stress, anxiety, and self-expression. The small-group setting offers emotional safety, gentle social exposure, and peer validation. It supports emotion regulation, self-awareness, and confidence—especially helpful for neurodivergent teens who benefit from low-stimulation, structured environments.
