Long awaited, it's here at last! The world premiere theatrical release of "The Maestro", the award-winning film by Paul Spurrier about an insane conductor who creates an orchestra of teenage misfits during the Covid crisis, a musical utopia that goes horribly wrong.
Featuring Somtow Sucharitkul as the maestro himself, the film stars a litany of Thailand's most internationally known actors like Vithaya Parnsringarm, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Michael Shaowanasai, David Asavanond as well as newcomers like Kittitat Kanchanabovorn.
The film also features the world-renowned Siam Sinfonietta — as the youth orchestra. The Siam Sinfonietta has since gone on to perform in other international motion pictures.
"The Maestro" has been playing on the international festival circuit, winning the Spirit of Cinema Award at the Oldenburg Festival and seven other awards at festivals in four continents, including Best Creative Vision in the Thailand International Film Festival, Singapore World Film Carnival: Outstanding Achievement Award Winner: SF and Genre, Ediplay International Film Festival (France): Best Original Music, Multi-Dimension International Film Festival: Best Feature Film, Best Music Score, Best Composer and Beyond the Curve Film Festival (France): Best Horror FIlm! It is selected in a total of sixteen film festivals so far.
The premiere will feature a live performance of music from the soundtrack of the film, live Q&A with the director and stars of the show, and many other extras.
The premiere will be open to the public. Owing to social distancing space limitations, please book early.
