Theatre Guild of Simsbury proudly presents our mainstage fall musical: Something Rotten! Something Rotten! is the story of two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom, both struggling playwrights in the 1590s, and self-styled rivals of the Bard himself: William Shakespeare. Desperate to write a hit play and finally upstage the ubiquitous Shakespeare, they consult the prophet Nostradamus (no, not that Nostradamus), who predicts that the future of theater involves singing, dancing, and acting all at once, leading them to create the world's first musical. The show is a mash-up of 16th century Shakespearean wit and 21st century Broadway style. Featuring catchy songs like “A Musical”, “Will Power”, and “I Hate Shakespeare”, plus spectacular dance numbers, sidesplitting comedy, and wacky characters, this is THE must-see show of our 52nd season!
