About this Event
Students of all sewing levels can learn how to sew in a zipper with a sewing machine in this one day zipper focused workshop.
We will start by practicing a zipper set into a seam, then practice setting in an invisible zipper to a divided seam mimicking a waist seam. Then we will make zipper bags.
We have new sewing machines, zippers to practice the tutorials with, and there are plenty of sewing tools (scissors, rulers, chalk) too.
We have scap materials you're welcome to use for a zipper pouch. You can also bring apx two complimentary 1/2 yard pieces of material and a matching nylon non-invisible zipper for a zipper pouch construction that you will love and use, or give as a gift.
We kindly ask that you do not bring a project in with a broken zipper. We want to set you up for success and that means learning how to set in a zipper in an organic construction setting, alterations can come next.
*There is a $50 non-refundable fee should you decide to cancel, and cancelations must happen 24hrs prior to the event via email to [email protected] otherwise the ticket is 100% non-refundable.
