Gary Lechliter’s work has appeared in many poetry journals and anthologies. He has published five books of poetry and one chapbook. His most recent book The Silence of Wrens is published by Woodley Memorial Press. Catherine Anderson’s fifth book of poetry, Afloat, won the 2025 Birdy Prize for Poetry with Meadowlark Press. In 2022, a memoir about her late brother who had nonverbal autism, My Brother Speaks in Dreams: Of Family, Beauty & Belonging, was published by Wising Up Press. A native of Detroit, she lived in the Boston area for twenty-two years, working primarily with refugees and immigrants. Now in Kansas City for another twenty-three years, she assisted new immigrants and refugees to become skilled interpreters.
Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, the 2009-13 Kansas Poet Laureate is the author of 24 books, including The Magic Eye: A Story of Saving a Life and a Place in the Age of Anxiety and How Time Moves: New & Selected Poems. Caryn and her husband Ken find great inspiration in the land they’ve preserved and put in a conservation easement near Lawrence, Kansas and in the beauty of the earth and sky. Founder of Transformative Language Arts, she is a beloved writing workshop facilitator and coach.
