About this Event
In this posthumous documentary, we discover the vivacious vision of the late Almudena Grandes, a Spanish fiction-writer who read, wrote and loved both sides of the Atlantic. Through the lens of Almudena herself, or others such as her husband Luis, this intimate portrait of this complex writer not only illuminates her worldview and various opinions on life and writing, but keeps her memory alive and celebrates her work, experiences, and spirit. The film, a mixture of conversations, testimonies, and unedited footage, features domestic scenes, local festivities, and summer dinners outside. The documentary undertakes the tremendous task of capturing a life as holistically and accurately as possible.
