To celebrate the 10 years of activity, TWIS in collaboration with Florence Freitag and Lisa Stewart will host a 2-day Celebration Gathering, open to anyone who wishes to celebrate with us this first precious cycle of existence, while getting a taste of our activities and approach to voice & body.
In the 2-day Gathering there will be different offerings of guided somatic voice practices, CircleSinging, traditional melodies group singing, as well short unplugged performances by some of the TWIS community artists.
In the evening of both days there will be informal performances from some of the TWIS community artists, who will share their work in various form: songs, improv, work excerpts, sound poetry and more.

ABOUT TWIS:
The World is Sound (TWIS) is an independent platform dedicated to the exploration of the human voice and the vast potential of sound as a medium for expression. The TWIS program offers a series of workshops that tap into the physical, emotional, imaginative and communicative dimensions of the voice and how this can be accessed in relation to body and breath work.
Initiated by voice artist, dancer, sound composer Alessio Castellacci in close collaboration with singer, sound artist, choreographer Irena Z. Tomažin, the program fuses together a broad range of traditions from sound, movement, performance and somatic practices.
The work of TWIS ventures deep into unknown vibratory fields, retuning, reawakening, and reconsidering our individual and collective voices. Together we investigate, improvise, play and perform within ‘acousomatic-scapes’, paying close attention to the space between breath, movement and voice.
TWIS encourages the development of experimental voice and movement practices within the context of performance, but with a strong holistic approach.
The program welcomes artists and explorers at different stages of their professional and life process who wish to dive deep in the relationship with their own vocality through intense physical experimentation, and who are open to embrace a state of naked vulnerability towards their own vocal body and to be present to the other participants' process in an empathic way. Our vision is to cultivate a communal space of acceptance and feedback, to reflect the political urgency of developing and sustaining practices of Deep Listening and Deep Caring. The courses are designed to create a safe space in which the innate need to express ourself vocally can thrive, unlocking the emotional blocks that holds our voice.
