About this Event
Join this new Work That Reconnects Community of Practice. This 2-hour event will be the first of a monthly meet-up where we’ll explore and engage in various Work That Reconnects (WTR) practices. Each session will center around a different exercise from the , offering members opportunities to dive deep into the work, facilitate the exercises, and grow together as a community of learners, teachers, and facilitators.
The WTR Spiral offers a structured process for personal and collective transformation, helping us reconnect with our sources of strength, creativity, and compassion. Over time, this series will evolve, with participants taking turns facilitating exercises and co-creating a space of mutual learning.
About WTR
The Work That Reconnects is a transformative process designed for those facing burnout from activism, anxiety about the state of the world, hopelessness, and grief over the destruction of nature to help them heal themselves and our world more effectively. Developed by Joanna Macy and colleagues, it draws on teachings from Systems Thinking, Deep Ecology, Spiritual Traditions, and Undoing Oppression. This interactive, healing journey guides participants through a Spiral of four stages:
- Coming from Gratitude
- Honoring Our Pain for the World
- Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes
- Going Forth
The Spiral process is meant to be experienced repeatedly, each time offering new insights, greater resilience, and renewed hope for taking meaningful action on behalf of the Earth.

This gathering is open to those who are committed to cultivating resilience in their lives and communities, and who seek to integrate Work That Reconnects into both personal practice and collective action.

Tickets
Please book a ticket in advance as there is limited capacity. Suggested donation: £5-10
Participation in our community-led events is often on a voluntary ‘by donation’ basis. This means that nobody is expected to make a payment if they cannot afford to do so. However, any donations received will be shared between the Centre and the facilitator, helping to make the events’ programme sustainable as well as to provide some reciprocity towards community facilitators’ time and skills offered.
Where a “suggested donation” is listed, this is just an indication of what the event might cost if it was ticketed – it is fine to donate less (or nothing at all). Donating is one way to show your appreciation for the value of the Salisbury Centre. Please consider ‘paying it forward’ by donating a bit extra if you can afford, helping to keep it possible for everyone to take part, regardless of their circumstances.
To donate:
bring cash on the evening, or
donate online on www.salisburycentre.org/donate (using “WTR” as REFERENCE).
pay with card at the front door, please add a reference (eg. WTR) using the pen icon top right on the pay-point screen
