Are you a new woodland owner or thinking about buying a woodland? Curious about how to manage your land sustainably, support biodiversity or simply want to develop your knowledge around trees. Or are you seeking how to generate income? The woods don't come with instructions but we can provide you the help and guidance to help you on your journey.
We hold two-day course in the heart of our 120-acre woodland, led by the Graham Morgan of SlimWoods CIC.
It's an enjoyable couple of days in the woods, where we will have both look at the technical side of looking after woods, plus go out an explore examples of how things and done. And there are opportunities to seek personal advice from Graham,
The course will cover, among other things:
• your responsibilities and the legal stuff;
• where to find funding, incl. management plans and Countryside Stewardship;
• hands-on demonstrations of tree management;
• advice on how to boost biodiversity and conservation;
• the real-world costs and income options from managing a
woodland include coppice, charcoal and firewood
Graham has a wealth of knowledge and experience and specialises in helping with small woodlands, and has worked with us for the last three years.
No prior experience or specialist knowledge required – just bring boots, weatherproofs, and curiosity.
