Event: The Women of Holyrood Park - free guided walk

Time: 13:00-15:00

Meeting Place: Holyrood Park Information Centre, Horse Wynd (opposite Scottish Parliament buildings) Postcode: EH8 8AZ. Please see the map below.

Description: Come along on a gentle guided walk around the north side of the Park to learn about the fascinating lives of the women who shaped the history of Holyrood Park. Discover queens, saints and social reformers on this free event to celebrate International Women's Day.


Age: This walk may not be suitable for children under 12 years.

Grade: Easy

Route: Volunteers’ Walk, Parade Ground, Hunter’s Bog, St. Margaret’s Loch. This may change.

Bring: Warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear with good grips. A snack and a drink.

Toilets: Toilets are available at the Holyrood Park Education Centre (EH8 8HG). No toilets on the walk itself.

Road Closures: Holyrood Park roads are closed every Saturday and Sunday.

Disabled access: The route is wheelchair accessible although does involve rough tracks and slopes. Please contact us if you have any access requirements and we will do our best to adapt the walk accordingly. Please contact the Ranger Service for more information.
