Oklahoma City University’s Petree College of Arts & Sciences welcomes poet/theologian/popular podcaster Pádraig Ó Tuama in for the annual Wimberly School of Religion Willson Lectures. Ó Tuama will offer the weekly worship service sermon at 1:00 in the campus chapel and a 7:00 poetry reading in the Meinders School of Business auditorium. Both events are free and open to the public with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the evening reading, with the partnership of Full Circle Book Store.
Ó Tuama's speaking, poetry, and memoir-writing weave together reflections on personal experiences, the gospels, and Irish cultural values to explore how we navigate personal and social conflicts to find and create shelter for ourselves and others in the journey of life. His podcast ‘Poetry Unbound' has gained thousands of followers for his ability to make poetry meaningful for all. Don’t miss this special opportunity to hear a renowned international poet in OKC!
This event has been made possible with funding from the Willson and Thatcher Hoffman Smith endowments at OCU and a grant from Oklahoma Humanities.
