About this Event
In a post-apocalyptic world, people are forced to live in underground caves, sheltered from nuclear fallout and the rumored horrors of the “outdoors.” Doctors and the government alike warn of the dangers of nuclear exposure and radioactivity, but one off-putting family insists that everything on the surface is safe. Convincing the unconvinced and leading a cult of hundreds, the family attempts to crawl their way to the surface, no matter what the cost may be. Francesca Pazniokas’ 2018 The Wild Boar of Chernobyl explores themes of psychosis, religion, trauma, and delusion and begs the question, what’s next for humanity?
This theater production is directed by Aaron Berlau and designed by Anna Hendrickson. It is site-specific, immersive and will be set in Reed Theatre’s Annex. Come prepared.
Content warning: loud and sudden noises, body horror, violence and blood, psychosis .
