Longtime WICN favorite and Rhode Island Music Hall of Famer Greg Abate will be joined by Steve Hunt on piano, John Lockwood on bass, and Mark Walker on drums. You may recall Greg recording his album Reunion before a live audience in Studio 50 in June 2022, along with Greg’s performances at Mechanics Hall, the WICN Holiday Jazz Jam, and his worldwide touring schedule!
Greg’s album 'Magic Dance: The Music of Kenny Barron,' was released in 2021 and spent months on the JazzWeek album charts. WICN is excited to feature the Greg Abate Quartet at the beautiful Worcester Historical Museum for our next Brian Barlow Concert Series event!
Before the performance, you’re invited to join WICN Artistry of Jazz host and historian, Professor Ben Young, for an entertaining presentation on the History of Jazz in Worcester. This presentation will be available both before the concert and during intermission.
Please join us in honoring and preserving Brian Barlow’s enduring love of live music. Tickets to see the Greg Abate Quartet on October 25 are on sale now.
