About this Event
Honour the winter solstice with a small and simple celebration on Worthing seafront.
As we begin the longest night, the Wellderfolk will meet on the beach for an intimate ceremony led by Mick Channon.
Huddled against the elements, we'll gather around a small fire to mark the shortest day and welcome the returning light.
In this friendly ceremony, we'll welcome the changing seasons and appreciate the cycle of life, ending with a quiet moment to reflect, manifest and cast affirmations into the flames.
And afterwards, our very own Matt will invoke Amaruq in a spectacular fire performance that brings light into the wintry darkness.
You'll find us on the beach from 3.45pm, ready to begin the ceremony at 4.15pm. We'll congregate at the top of the beach, with the promenade available for those who struggle to navigate the stones.
Dress up against the elements and bring yourself something warm to drink.
Tickets cost £5 per adult and £2.50 for five to 16 year-olds. Under fives are free. Family tickets cost £10. If any of that is too much, just get in touch.
There's parking along the seafront and several buses stop either side of Heene Road.
