The Welcome Table concert film shoot and second line with John Boutte, Josh Fox and friends!
The Welcome Table event on APRIL 20th, 2024 (rain date April 21st) from 1-7 PM will be a celebration like nothing that has ever been seen before in the history of climate action, and you are invited! We are hosting 25 climate change leaders and climate displaced people from 9 countries and giving them a NOLA-style welcome! Come to our event and celebrate, dance, and second-line your way into movie history. We will gather at the Music Box Village, be treated to a mini concert by John Boutté, Chris Obehi and other legednary musicians and we will learn stories of the climate displaced people in THE WELCOME TABLE film by Oscar Nominated filmmaker Josh Fox. We will then SECOND LINE our way up to the levee where a 1000 foot long table is waiting for us. Drones and cameras will document this moment- a symbol of welcoming, cultural celebration and climate action like none other in history. This film will air on HBO in 2025 and this table scene will be the final most powerful image. Get more infomation here: www.thewelcometablefilm.com.This event is ticketed but free. 1:30pm: Doors open!
2pm: Stories & Songs from climate leaders, refugees, musicians and artists including Nelton Yankur, leader of the Achuar Amazon Tribe, Chris Obehi, migrant and singer from Nigeria/Italy, Josh Fox, Oscar Nominated Filmmaker, John Boutté legendary New Orleans singer and many many more.
3pm: Second line to a 1000 foot long table on the levee behind Music Box to create an historic image for our film led by The Roots of Music! You get to be in this historic film on HBO!
4:30pm-7pm: Music, Food, Mingling, and Music at Music Box village!
