The Wasteland (and its Possibilities)
Join us at KNÓSIS for an artistic ritual, no mere performance, where we'll journey together through cosmically personified birth, loss, disillusionment and death to remember the indestructible potential that persists even in great tumult and flux.
Interspersed with song and sewn together with a group sounding to remember in feeling the possibility that always exists even in the darkest nights of the soul, the evening will meld poetry, music, contemplation and sounding to provide a space for reflection and catharsis much needed. Musical selections will range from original improvisations to Delibes, Weil, Holst, Thomas, Ravel and Mozart.
Sages (and now scientists, too) know that voicing calms the body & soothes the mind. In sounding, one feels the peace that is not only our human birthright but also the forever wish of humanity.
Come together to sound and revere together what IS, so we can dream and intend together what we WISH might be. In great sorrow, lives great joy: paradox is the very nature of human life and in art and meditation we remember who we are. The Wasteland--in the sense of an urban landscape, a social time or a metaphor for all of the above--is more state of consciousness than fact. Together, with intention and voice, we will espouse a credo for personal--and thereby--collective peace.
