About this Event
16 years after its release, Alfonzo CuarĀ“on's dystopian masterpiece Children of Men remains timeless, envisioning a world transformed by environmental destruction, perpetual war, and the failure of governing systems to protect innocent people. But Children of Men is also a story of spiritual awakening and survival against great odds.
You are cordially invited to a free screening of Children of Men at the Beacon Cinema in Columbia City on July 7th at 7:30PM. The movie will be preceded by a musical performance of Krzysztof Penderecki's Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima.
Your ticket also comes with a Reading Companion (RC) which explores some of the cultural and socioeconomic dimensions of the film. The RC can be accessed by the QR code in the banner, or by going to: https://gavintiemeyer.com
