The Vow From Hiroshima is a powerful documentary that chronicles Setsuko Thurlow, a 13-year-old survivor of the Hiroshima atomic bomb, and her lifelong mission to prevent nuclear horrors after witnessing the death of her classmates. Through her friendship with second-generation survivor Mitchie Takeuchi, the film captures Setsuko’s decades of activism culminating in the achievement of the Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty and her Setsuko’s Nobel Peace Prize speech.
