Due to anticipated inclement weather, the City of Hot Springs has rescheduled the unveiling of “The Visitor” to Monday, April 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Hill Wheatley Plaza.
This long-awaited event celebrates the installation of a striking new sculpture created by acclaimed local artist Longhua Xu. With thoughtful coordination by the Parks and Trails Department and the Engineering Department, this piece has found its home in the heart of downtown.
Standing at 12 feet tall atop a matching 12-foot base, The Visitor honors the deep cultural roots of the region. The bronze statue depicts a Native American woman on horseback, a powerful and graceful tribute to the enduring spirit of the Hot Springs community and its connection to the natural world.
Inspired by the admiration of two visitors and realized through the passion of many, this artwork speaks to the shared appreciation of Hot Springs’ past, present, and future.
