Big News: The Violin Summit Project! Four Violins: Ivan Strunin, Leah Calvert, Adam Poulin and Keiko Ishibashi along with a rhythm section consisting of Jeff Reilly on drums, Tommy Sauter on bass and Erik Olsen on keys. We plan on recreating one of the seminal moments in Jazz Violin history, The Violin Summit concert which in 1968 was one of those events that changed the trajectory of Jazz Violin. The players on that concert in Switzerland included Jean Luc Ponty, Stephane Grappelli, Svend Assmussen and Stuff Smith. We will. be adding a few more tunes to the program and our first show will be June 7 at the 40 Watt Club. Doors will open at 7:00 and the show will start at 8:00.
