The Viewpoints Method with Toni Baum
Please join us on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM CT for a dance workshop which explores ensemble improvisation through movement building blocks, or “viewpoints.” This workshop is built as a training room for dancers and performers.
The workshop is based in The Viewpoints method, a method which is often used by theater and dance companies to develop new performative work. Using a series of exercises which lead into open movement, dancers work with their own impulses, each other, the space, and a shared movement vocabulary.
Who should consider attending this workshop: Contact improvisers, ecstatic dancers, improvised dancers, and dancer of all kinds!

About Your Facilitator - Toni Baum
I’m a facilitator, performer, and dancer in Austin TX. I’ve been acting since I was 5; majored in Theater Arts at Vassar College; and trained for a semester at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. I’ve developed and performed devised and improvised theater (theater that starts with movement and starts without a script), and I’ve trained extensively, as well as developing work, with The Viewpoints method. I’ve facilitated primarily for youth, including touring an educational theater production in Austin-area schools.
