Renowned vibes player and percussionist Orphy Robinson MBE is one of the greatest talents on vibraphone the UK has ever produced.During this very special show he will be joined by the 8-piece Jazz Ensemble of The Royal Academy of Music to explore and bring alive the music of other legends of the vibes and marimba including Bobby Hutcherson, Milt Jackson, Lionel Hampton and many more covering musical styles from bebop, via post-bop, to contemporary and free jazz.

Orphy has won numerous industry awards since the early 1980s, also appearing on several chart topping tracks awarded Platinum and Gold status. He was a member of the acclaimed early 1980s Brit-funk band ‘Savanna’, a founding member of ground-breaking big band, 'The Jazz Warriors’ and was a featured player on the first wave of Acid Jazz albums in the early 1990s.
He continues to work and perform across classical, contemporary and jazz with numerous high profile artists including virtuoso violinist Nigel Kennedy.
In 2018 he was awarded an MBE by The Queen for his services to music.

The show is performed in two halves, with a 20 minute interval.
Free parking is available on site, and nearby in Century Retail Park (please check conditions of parking on arrival - usually 4 hours for free). The Pump House Theatre and Arts Centre is 4-minute walk from Watford High Street Overground Station.
