About this Event
Drawing on eco-somatics, this 90-minute practice blends embodied movement, breathwork, visualization, and sensory awareness to help you reconnect with the elements that reside within and around us.
The Verdant Body invites a harmonious integration of body and nature, reminding us that we are living beings within a greater ecological web. By reconnecting with these primordial energies, we can cultivate an internal sanctuary of balance and peace, where body and Earth thrive in harmony.
In a world shaped by the pressures of modern life, it's easy to become disconnected from our bodies. Often viewed as machines to be controlled, we forget the body is a living, sensing organism to be nurtured and listened to. This immersive movement experience encourages co-regulation between your inner landscape and the natural world around you.
The workshop invites you to pause, breathe, release, and reconnect with the grounding forces of nature. Tune in to your body’s natural rhythms and remember that we are nature. Reconnect with the verdancy of your body.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT STYLES:
The class blends meditation, visualization, and a slow-flow yoga sequence with dynamic Pilates movements to build heat. It also includes pranayama (breathwork), somatic practices like shaking, tapping, and yielding, and optional sound release (such as sighing or humming), as well as guided free-form movement.
Albee and Jodi teach with an invitational, trauma-informed approach, offering prompts to rest or modify movements as needed throughout the session. You are always welcome to skip any part of the practice or remain seated or reclined whenever you feel it’s necessary.

More recently, Jodi has been studying and applying the teachings of somatics and the influence that movement has on our mind-body connection. Adding to her arsenal of experience, Jodi also has knowledge and interest in injury rehab and prevention.
All of Jodi’s offerings are trauma-informed, taking into consideration the way past trauma may manifest in our bodies physically. Jodi’s essence is one of compassionate vitality – she provides a nurturing space where you will feel completely supported during your movement exploration.
