Since 2005, the Placer Breast Cancer Foundation (formerly the Placer Breast Cancer Endowment) has been dedicated to funding impactful breast cancer research and education—right here in our local community. We are excited to be celebrating our 20th Anniversary this year.

We proudly reached our original goal in 2015: raising $1.5 million to fund a permanent Breast Cancer Chair at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center.

We didn’t stop there.

• 2016–2019: We raised $100,000 to support groundbreaking BRCA2 protein research
• 2019–2024: We completed a $175,000 commitment toward the research at UC Davis focused on Triple Negative, Stage IV breast cancer
• 2025 and Beyond: We’ve doubled our commitment to research in 2025 and now support a fellow at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Mammo+ Bus, a mobile mammography unit designed to reach our underserved communities, and a new study focused on less toxic cancer treatments, through the Aldo Pineschi Memorial Grant, honoring a beloved friend and partner in our mission.

In addition to research, we prioritize education and support, including our Placer Women’s Retreat, now in its 8th year, Students for A Cure, a new program designed to educate high school students, and ongoing collaboration with other local cancer-focused nonprofits to serve patients, survivors, and caregivers.

Every dollar raised stays local—funding innovation, care, and hope.
