Grotesque dramaturgy incorporates dazzling symbolic imagery to create a dream-like array of physical-immersive theatre. Cinematic eruptions bloom from the shadows. What’s been perceived as inanimate, animates—revealing therapeutic interludes that bleed into sequenced theatrics. In an effort to “liberate the human subconscious,” The Velvet Noose combines poetic expression, puppeteering mask-work, and original sound design “to form a language superior to words” that invites the spectator into the spectacle. Playfully departing from the natural, the expected, the typical ~ theatre you can feel.
