The Vatican is Enrico Morena, Julian Ferraretto, Alain Valodze, Jamie Harrison. The first in a series of concerts comprising exceptional musicians performing stylistically diverse compositions and their heartfelt narratives features Chris Finnen and Charmaine Jones.The Vatican comprises four of Adelaide’s most culturally diverse, experienced, and respected musicians. Headed by former London-based musician Enrico Morena, a skilled drummer in nuanced and soundscape drumming, the virtuosic and melodically charged Julian Ferraretto, an in-demand improvisational violinist. On guitar, the consummate Alain Valodze, an expressive composer and producer drawing influences from Flamenco, Folk, Brazilian, and Classical as well as Latin music. Filling out The Vatican is the understated Jamie Harrison, a proud Kokatha man, playing intense and passionate electric and double bass.
English-born guitarist and troubadour, Chris Finnen, is renowned as being a master of Blues and World music, having been inducted into New York Blues Hall of Fame in 2013 and the S.A. Music Hall of Fame in 2014 . Chris's narrative of life is highlighted in his recently released book, 'Finnenisms', which will form part of the evening's format.
Vocalist, educator and producer, Charmaine Jones, is the founder and powerhouse of the highly acclaimed 'Gospo Collective', one of Australia's premier choral ensembles. Sri Lankan-born, Australian-bred, Charmaine's stage presence and charisma is second only to her renowned performances and improvisational techniques with the evening being a platform for her original compositions and vocal wizardry.
