Did you know Oak trees have a special communication system that they use within their root system to talk to each other? Come and visit an old Oak grove where you can see evidence of the life these oak trees have lived. This is a 5-mile, round trip, hike that is reserved for accompaniment with a State Park Interpreter. Join us at 10am as we meander through the floodplain and find ourselves at the Valley Oak grove. Meet at the Welcome Center at 10am. Last restroom stop before hike. No restrooms in the backcountry
No reservation needed. Please remember to wear good walking shoes, plenty of water and snacks. Option: you may bring a lunch to enjoy at the ramadas along the pond after the hike. No Ada Accessibility, no stroller and no dogs.
