A tour of the Solway Showground with a talk about the history of the USMC in Masterton 1942-43.In February 1943, a battalion of the United States Marine Corps arrived in Masterton and camped at the Solway Showgrounds. Hear their stories and see where they camped and lived in a showground that has changed very little since their stay.

The tour takes you through the showgrounds that, while flat, are grass. Health and safety briefing to be given at start of tour.
Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.
