About this Event

Amid nationwide staffing shortages, citywide firehouse rolling blackouts, and rural response scenarios relying on mutual aid agreements, there are moments when it’s just you, alone for what feels like an eternity. No backup en route. No traditional rig assignments. No one else coming. Just you, your crew, your rig, and your unwavering determination to get the attack priorities underway while the delayed reinforcements close on your position.

With The Underground Engine Company, we focus on all fireground priorities being covered by one or two companies. From reinforcing our foundations to advanced alternatives,

students can look forward to interacting with the experienced instructor cadre while performing an abundant amount of solo engine company skills. From making the stretch to forcible entry. From pressing the hallway to primary search. From setting the ladder to making the grab. From pushing the stairwell to making the basement. Returning to your

respected department with confidence and resilience. All positions on the engine, from officer to backstep, will benefit from this intense hands-on, scenario-driven course.

Day 1: Skill and repetitions including; from rig to door, the rise of engine company search, flowing the corridor, your entry matters.

Day 2: Scenarios and full-scale reps including; deviation from the box, making the grab, accelerated attack and top side for the win.

Full bunkers, SCBA, and 1-2 bottles will be needed for this class. Bring your own tools if you want to practice how you ride or use tools on site.

Lunch will be provided each day
