The Ultimate Wedding Photography Workshop

9 Days of intense learning that will take photographers step-by-step from amateur to established member of the professional wedding photography community — all working around your M-F, 9-5 job.

At the end of this workshop attendees will have all the supports in place to become a successful wedding photographer in the United States.

Day 1: Saturday, November 9, 2024 | 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Natural Light Photography

Learn the ins and outs of using natural light on wedding days, followed by all the technical camera techniques that are a MUST for making it through a wedding day with every moment captured professionally.

Day 2: Sunday, November 10, 2024 | 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Composition & Posing

Start the day learning how to get more creative with composition to add variety and value to your client’s wedding galleries…from both the lead photographer and the second photographer perspectives.

After lunch, we’ll have a ton of fun learning to pose with a real couple and talk about the logistics of posing both sides of the wedding party and family formals throughout a wedding day.

At the end of the day, Megan will take a headshot of you, posing you using techniques learned in class, for you to both feel what it's like to be posed and so you have a new headshot to use!

Day 3: Monday, November 11, 2024 | 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Developing Your Editing Style & Using Lightroom Classic

Hear from professional editor, Janelle Joy, all about how to develop your unique editing style and take a deep dive into using the industry standard editing software, LrC.

Day 4: Tuesday, November 12, 2024 | 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Branding & Website

Identify your wedding photography brand, workshop style! We’ll go much deeper than colors and logos for this in-depth class on how to present your business to the world.

Day 5: Wednesday, November 13, 2024 | 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Marketing with Social Media

Learn how to market your wedding photography business with proven social media strategies. You will walk out of class with a plan for how to move forward with your individual marketing plan based on your business goals and current life responsibilities.

Day 6: Thursday, November 14, 2024 | 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Wedding Workflow | The Client Experience

Learn our step-by-step workflow from the time an inquiry hits your inbox until your new clients are writing raving, 5-star reviews gladly for you — after every, single wedding.

Attendees will walk away with email templates galore to give them a HUGE head start!

Day 7: Friday, November 15, 2024 | 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Wedding Photography Expectations & Second Shooting 101

On day 7 we will talk about what’s really expected of the photographers from the perspective of the clients, the other vendors, wedding party and other guests you will interact with on a wedding day.

Then, we’ll talk about how to get more second shooting gigs to rack up your wedding photography experience.

Day 8: Saturday, November 16, 2024 | 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Flat Lays & Flash Photography

Start your Saturday by learning how to design and photograph a flat lay of the invitation suite and details. Participants will have the opportunity to practice designing their own flat lays with all the pretty things you could possibly imagine to work with. You will be able to photograph the designs to use in your portfolios as well!

After lunch we will get technical about off-camera flash…a must at wedding receptions even for the most diehard natural light photographer. We will give you all the strategies you need to keep shooting after the sunset.

Day 9: Sunday, November 17, 2024 | 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Demonstration Shoot

We will end this Ultimate Wedding Photography Workshop in style with a Demonstration Shoot…wedding-style with a model couple in wedding clothes complete with a bouquet to practice all the shooting and posing techniques learned earlier in the week. Your instructor will demonstrate and explain lighting and posing choices and then turn it over to each of the attendees to take the lead as they are comfortable. Each attendee will have a turn at leading during the shoot while the others second shoot around them.

Photos may be used in your portfolio as well, of course!
