About this Event
Adults 18 & Up
Mark Twain's Jim, newly revisited in the critically acclaimed novel James, was based on Daniel Quarles, an enslaved man on Twain's uncle's farm.
Join Daniel Quarles' descendant, Larry McCarty, as he presents his ancestor's true story in Jim’s Journey: A Documented History of Daniel Quarles Association With Samuel Clemens.
McCarty's genealogical journey authenticating "Jim" as a real human being -- and the story of his family's journey -- is one you won't want to miss.
This program will meet in the Multipurpose Room.
