About this Event
In May 1646 nine people from Huntingdonshire were accused of witchcraft, by agents of the infamous and self-styled ‘Witchfinder General’ Matthew Hopkins. Their trial was held in Huntingdon, on the site of the current Town Hall; based on the depositions given we are staging a dramatic recreation of these events.
The trial is an immersive experience – so whilst there is a narrator who will introduce and interject into the performance; YOU will be part of the audience, as if you were there in 1646, in the atmospheric surroundings of the old courtroom.
Not suitable for children under 10; performances last 90 minutes.
These events when staged by the Museum are widely acclaimed and very popular, so book early to avoid disappointment!
Performances are at 1pm, 3.30pm and 6.30pm on Saturday 8 February and at 10am, 12.30pm and 3pm on Sunday 9 February 2025.
