Please note this is a provisional date, actual date will be later in Jan, when I know the dates of a couple of festivals. At the moment it's all 'provisional', just gathering info about who might be interested. This is what I'm proposing to do -
A 2/3 week trip to the Gambia which encompasses learning djembe and doundoun plus the cultural experience of visiting the Kankurang festival in Janjanbureh.
The djembefola will be Ebou, a Guinean musician and the 'team' will be the usual 'Toumaranke Crew' with Adja Daffy cooking.
Details to follow and we currently have no venue so accommodation may be guest house based but the actual drumming will take place at the compound in Brufut we've rented in for many years and so income will directly support this family. People will have to pay for their own flights and I have to do some maths but probably £800 for a single week and £700 per week for 2 or 3 weeks. Dates also not yet fixed as the festival date hasn't been announced yet but prob from mid/late Jan, watch this space..
