Session 1: Foundations of Wax Sealing: History, Materials, and the Beauty of Imperfection
You’ll Learn:
- The short, fascinating history of wax seals — from royal correspondence to modern creative expression.
- How to recognize and source quality sealing wax (colors, composition, suppliers).
- Beginner-friendly, safe techniques for melting, pouring, and stamping.
- The difference between making seals in advance and stamping directly on paper.
- How to make simple, unembellished seals with confidence and consistency.
- Cleaning and caring for your tools.
Session 2: Decorative Techniques & Personal Expression: Adding Layer, Shine, and Story to Your Seals
You’ll Learn:
- How to create easy chrome and metallic finishes.
- Painting techniques using acrylics and metallic markers.
- Embedding materials (threads, postage stamps) for a layered look.
- How to match colors and textures to your personal aesthetic.

By the end of this workshop, students will have a solid foundation in making wax seals equipped with newly acquired techniques and the confidence to continue developing their style. Your registration fee covers all three sessions of whichever round of sessions you register for (either the November 1st or November 22nd start date).
