Please join Matthew Daniell, guiding teacher of North Shore Insight Meditation Center, for a half-day mindfulness meditation program in Salisbury, Mass. Mindfulness teaches us to let go of judgments and be with what is happening in the present moment, just as it is. As we develop this skill, we touch a sense of timelessness. We feel the relief of not being held hostage to our thoughts of the past, future, or even any interpretation of what is happening in the present. On a practical level, meeting life's moments fully, without needing them to be any other way than they are, nourishes the heart. It gives us greater freedom just to be simple and clear and kind in how we relate to ourselves and others, whether we are in the midst of meditating or living our busy daily lives. This retreat will touch in to these timeless truths, beginning with a reflection and including periods of silent and guided meditation, finishing with discussion. It is suitable for new as well as experienced meditators.Matthew Daniell is the guiding teacher of North Shore Insight Meditation Center, a "centerless center" that offers programs at various venues in greater Newburyport, MA, and online. Matthew has been practicing Buddhist meditation since the 1980s, including over a decade in Asia, where he practiced Zen intensively in Japan, Tibetan Buddhism in India, and Insight meditation in Burma, India, and Thailand.
