Monty Joe Thomas was known as “Mr. Cheerios” and was a gospel recording artist and a lifetime resident of Elgin, Texas. He founded the local musical group, The Thomas Family, which has been performing for generations and is an integral part of the Sunday service at the AME Church.Monty believed that the best music isn’t always found in the nightclubs or concert halls, all you had to do was go to church.
