What better way to wrap up the year with a light-hearted comedy at Cambridge's beloved Gaslight Theatre. Written by Peter Gordon and directed by one of Gaslight's highly regarded directors, Chrissy Hodkinson (Pink Hammer and Things I Know To Be True) this play set in an English caravan park is a must-see!
Cleverly written with witty characters played by a talented cast of Gaslight regulars, this play will have you both sympathising and giggling.
Synopsis:
Sue has taken a “get away from it all” holiday at a remote caravan park to get in some peaceful writing time. The site might be remote but it is far from peaceful! Sue is soon taken under the wing of expert but inadequate caravanner – Neville.
When not making sure that others are following the “rules”, Neville is engaged in constant warfare with his wife, the redoubtable Mary.
Mary’s life primarily revolves around organising the lives of others, especially her recently divorced sister, Liz. Also on holiday are the fun-loving Tony and his less than enthusiastic girlfriend, Jenny, who has joined Tony on a camping holiday much against her better judgement.
Add to this volatile mix Neville’s communal BBQ, less than salubrious camp facilities, a stunt kite and a late night sea rescue and you have the perfect recipe for mayhem – and a very funny take on a seaside holiday.
Tickets are just $30 per person, with Gaslight Theatre's signature mid-show supper, vibrant set and excellent casting this is an event you won't want to miss!
Early bird gets the worm (and the best caravan spot) so be sure to book your seats now!
