In what was a complete surprise to all of us, Theo Griffin's SOLD OUT evening at The Fallout Shelter in January 2024 was one of the most inspiring, original, inventive and enjoyable evenings of music of the year. The music covered a multitude of styles, subjects and influences and the multi-instrumentalist and multi-talented Theo Griffin moved effortlessly from instrument to instrument to dance and even mixed in a moment of spoken word. His voice is powerful and full of range few others can match. His show was a remarkable experience like few we have seen that covered so much ground. Our first encounter with this brilliant musician was as a backing vocalist for one of the Fallout Shelter's favorite sons, Kemp Harris back in 2019. During Kemp's 4 month residency in 2023, one of his "original" bands, Neon Grandma, re-united for a few songs...The Griffin played guitar and that was it!! He's one of the most decorated and accomplished musicians, composers, songwriters to EVER grace the stage at The Fallout Shelter and it's with unbridled anticipation that we bring this show to our community. The band features several members of the Kemp Harris Group including Brian Verrochi, Jim Lucchese and Adrian Sicam on keys.
Theo Griffin has dedicated his life to the performing arts. His professional career began as a boy soprano, a prodigy of sorts. He would continue his musical pursuits by playing in bands, composing, performing concerts/recitals and teaching music in the Boston Area and nationally.
He has been a background vocalist, bassist and tour manager for international jazz artist, Kandace Springs. He has toured the world as a musician and manager with one of the highlights being an opener for legendary duo Hall & Oates during their North American Tour 2018. Theo performs on Kandace Springs' latest album as a vocalist and cellist.
