On May 5th, 2015, our brother firefighter, colleague and friend Tim Gunther died in the line of duty. To help us keep his memory alive, the members of the City of Poughkeepsie Professional Firefighters Local 596 will be holding a golf tournament to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.Tim was an avid golfer and notorious fundraiser both for the firefighters’ union and for charitable causes. He even once held a fundraiser himself, playing 18 holes of golf 18 at different golf courses (one at each course) in one day to raise money for a paramedic injured on duty in Ulster County. His legacy is one of selflessness and generosity, and that is the purpose of this event: To give back to the community.
We will be holding the Fourth Annual Tim Gunther Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, August 25th at the McCann Golf Course in Poughkeepsie. Registration will begin at 8am with a shotgun start at 9am.
$175 per golfer/$700 per foursome
Cost includes continental breakfast during registration, lunch at the turn and a buffet dinner following the event. Beer, soda and water are included. There will be prize raffles, a 50/50, longest drive and closest to the pin prizes, a putting contest and more.
Half of all proceeds will be donated to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in Timbo’s name.
