On this day in the year 1307, William Tell was forced into (successfully) shooting an apple from atop his son’s head. As a nod to this historic moment in archery history, we present The Tell Tourney!Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to shoot an apple at the greatest distance possible!
Apples will be set atop pumpkins to be shot at, with each apple you hit, your distance is increased. You’ll be given six arrows per distance to attempt the shot, if you miss with all six, you’ll have to start over at the beginning.
You will have 4 “lives” to start over with for Barebow archers, and 2 for Compound. Extra lives may be purchased day-of.
Tie Breakers - If there are multiple competitors who achieve the same greatest distance, we will have a shoot-off. One arrow at a time until a miss/hit happens.
Equipment– Open Compound begins at 10M and Barebow begins at 5M
Awards:
The GOLDEN Apple Award – Given to the farthest hit apple in each Division
The RED Apple Award – Given to the farthest hit apple in each Class
The GREEN Apple Award – Given to each archer that dares the Tourney, along with a certificate to record their longest distanced (successful) shot
