Talk with Girish Kuber and Ambarish Mishra
This Marathi–English conversation revisits the extraordinary journey of the Tata family, whose vision, resilience, and values helped shape modern India. Girish Kuber, the erudite and award-winning editor of Loksatta, will be in conversation with Ambarish Mishra, a seasoned journalist admired for his sharp social and political commentary.
Kuber’s acclaimed Marathi book, टाटायन – एक पोलादी उद्योगगाथा, has been translated into English as The Tatas: How a Family Built a Business and a Nation by noted translator Vikrant Pande. The English edition went on to win the Gaja Capital Business Book Prize in 2019.
The work traces nearly two centuries from Nusserwanji Tata’s humble beginnings to Jamsetji Tata’s pioneering ventures, J. R. D. Tata’s profound contributions to a newly independent India and Ratan Tata’s visionary global expansion.
The evening also commemorates Ratan Tata’s first death anniversary, paying tribute to his leadership, integrity and humanitarian spirit.
