I really love entering into improvised movement and dance through somatic movement rituals/meditations, embodied theatre techniques and structured movement patterns which I draw from Qigong, Yoga, Tamalpa Life/Art Process and others.
I also LOVE living in the Macedon Ranges, but I miss being spoilt by the choices of places to dance nearly every week day when you are in Melbourne!
Up here in Newham/Kyneton/Woodend/Lancefield areas I hear there is a great 'No Lights No Lycra' going on now, which I am keen to get to soon....but there aren't any other classes where someone is facilitating in a structured somatic awareness- into improvisation kind-of way...which is my FAV..... so, though I am more of an improvised singing facilitator and vocal improv-play-er at heart, I am facilitating this space because I just have to move, have to dance, have to do this in the company of others...as it is a prayer for me, it is a celebration of life, it is a way of giving thanks, it is a way to connect to whatever it is that breathes me, it is a way to find spaciousness, it is a way to remember my true nature, a way to learn and grow and expand, a way to feel bliss and joy and an overall sense of wellbeing.....
