A history talk that evolves into a life size viewing and a guided tour at the original site of The Swan hotel in Hastings old town High Street. On May 23rd 1943 the destruction of the Swan took place during one of the worse air raids that Hastings suffered and was carried out by low level Focke Wulf fighter bombers. For the second year close to the anniversary we are holding a guided tour starting with a talk about the 100s of years history prior to its demise. We will then take our guest to the site, now a memorial rose garden in High Street, and show everyone how to step back in time with our art and their smartphones to trigger a full size detailed recreation of the pub, we can explore the exterior and take photos for souvenirs of the experience.
We use architectural software and augmented reality on mobile phones to enable this historic location to be viewed by everyone on the tour. Meeting location upstairs inside The Jenny Lind pub, High street, old town Hastings for talk to be announced close to old town, tickets £5
