This film is a translation from a live dance performance. It explores themes of Indigenous and settler reconciliation, mental health and healing and explores the challenges of creating a collaborative dance piece. Beautifully shot in nature on Snuneymuxw homelands, in and around Nanaimo, Canada, the film brings to life how a mythic fable about the Sun and the Moon, acts as a metaphor for the ways in which life imitates art and art reflects life.
▫️
This filmed adaptation of The Sun and the Moon is supported by Canada Council for the Arts and the British Columbia Arts Council.
