About this Event
Meet us in the Wulsin Hall Student Center at Naropa University, Arapahoe Campus, on the evening of Friday, February 13th, and on the morning of Saturday, February 14th.
Friday will be musical and ceremony-centered around Sufi Zikr, and Saturday will be an opportunity to learn with our featured teacher and ceremony leader, Sheikh Issa Farajaje. Feel free to attend Friday night, Saturday morning, or join us at both times!
Our guest, Sheikh Issa Farajaje, is a servant of the Sufi path as well as a musician who focuses on the tradition of Ottoman Sufi music. He carries his father's legacy, Dr. Ibrahim Abdurrahman Farajaje. He is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, now based in Istanbul. He is a representative of the Chishti-Qadiri lineage, initiated by his teacher Sayyid Najmu’l-Hasan Chishty of Ajmer-i Sharif. He has received permission from Faruk Hemdem Çelebi, the head of the Mevlevi lineage, to teach the Mevlevi sema (whirling practice) and its spiritual tradition.
The Keating-Schacter Center is dedicated to making interspiritual opportunities — dialogues, ceremonies, teachings, meditations, and more — accessible to all, and we hold these events free of charge as a part of that dedication. If you are able, please consider making an optional donation to help us continue doing this work.
