Join the Historic Hernando Preservation Society for a fascinating evening with historian Steven Rinck. He'll be presenting a first-person historical impression of Lake County Judge J. C. B. Koonce, sharing the story of how Dade Battlefield State Park was established a century after the tragic massacre.Rinck, a retired Pasco County teacher and principal, is a lifelong student of history and an expert on the Seminole Wars. He's a former president of the Seminole Wars Foundation and the Dade Battlefield Society, and he remains an active trustee of the Fort King Heritage Foundation and a member of the Florida Historical Society. He also plays an active role in historical societies across Sumter, Hernando, and Pasco counties.
The HHPS meeting will begin at 6 pm and Mr. Rinck will begin his presentation at 7 pm. All are welcome to attend both portions of the evening events.
