February’s Storycraft Session explores the idea that language itself can be a form of love. The words we choose, the ones we repeat, and the ones we hold close all shape how we connect with others and with ourselves.
Our shared read, A Language of Dragons, is a romantasy rooted in communication, translation, and the quiet power of words. Set in a richly imagined world, the story asks what happens when language becomes the bridge between worlds, identities, and relationships. It is romantic, thoughtful, and gently magical, chosen especially to complement this month’s theme.
After discussing the book together, we will move into our creative activity.
🌿 The Storycraft Activity
Each guest will choose one word that represents love to them. This might be self love, romantic love, friendship, family, or any form of connection they wish to explore.
Using air dry clay, you will shape your chosen word into a small sculptural piece, turning language into something physical and lasting. Your finished word will be displayed on a small wooden board to take home, creating a meaningful keepsake you can return to whenever you need a reminder of the kind of love you want to nurture.
This is a slow, thoughtful activity focused on intention rather than perfection. No artistic experience is needed.
