About this Event
This is a lively talk by Ray Nichols and Jill Cypher, graphic designers and photographers for the book. It features images and we-were-there descriptions of the many efforts by volunteer citizens to capture the past and present of what we know today as the City of Newark. Highlights include the 3,900-Citizen Band, the surprising cause of Radio-Free Newark, and the ones that got away. If you participated in the book, we hope you will join us this special evening and add your voice to the discussion. Today, Nichols and Cypher operate Lead Graffiti, a letterpress lab in Newark that offers creative and technical workshops for all ages in hand setting type, printing, and bookmaking.
