The China Cats are the Bay Area’s longest-running Grateful Dead tribute band, with over 12 years together. That experience shows in the band’s ability to read each others musical minds, leading to climactic peaks, interesting jams and luscious harmonies. The China Cats have performed throughout the state and internationally, including headlining Terrapin Crossroads (Marin), The Siren (Morro Bay), Don Quixotes (Felton), Crystal Bay Casino (Tahoe), as well as festivals such as Skull & Roses, Mtn Sol, Redwood Mountain Fair, Days Between and many more. Led by lead guitarist Matt Hartle, the China Cats cover a wide spectrum off the Dead’s catalog with authentic yet creative musicianship and vocal harmonies.
